Where Will You Hide, Oh Black Rose? (Jesse)

The first of, most likely, numerous "Ink" pieces. This was mostly done on the bus during my mission trip to D.C. It was first sketched with a 0.5mm pencil, and then overlayed with a V5 ink pen. The shading was done with pen; only the basic outline was done with pencil. I'm not sure where the concept/idea came from. I added the rose because I don't do them often, and was told that I needed to do more roses...heh. I want to, so this was a start. Jesse always seems like the perfect character for shots like this...he gets too much attention. O_o I used his long hair sort of as a frame. Not sure why he's gripping his shoulder; that's just part of the piece...heh! Maybe I'll do a series to this with other characters using the same style...hm...

This piece took 9 hours and 25 minutes to complete.
